The Art of Teaching Saturday Seminar – 2023-2024 Series
Being Human: Re-Centering Humanity in Schools
For this year’s series, we are exploring together our own angle on the undergraduate college’s theme for the year, Being Human.
At our next session, on December 2nd, we will continue to consider — from a range of perspectives and through various lenses — what it means to be human and what about that matters in teaching and learning. When we last met, one of the ideas we kept returning to was the belief that it is often through the things we make that we are able to engage with and express our humanness.
Therefore, when we next meet, we will look closely at and describe some works made by children, share stories and ideas, and discuss a reading from Patricia Carini, continuing our conversation about what values we need to return to and strengthen in order to re-center humanness in education.
Please RSVP . We will meet in room 208 at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center.
