We’re super excited to announce our collab between ESEA Life Drawing and 2B Or Not 2B Collective, theming the session on the playful works of Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara.

“Yoshitomo Nara is a pioneering figure in contemporary art whose signature style—which expresses children in a range of emotional complexities from resistance and rebellion to quietude and contemplation—celebrates the introspective freedom of the imagination and the individual.

Nara’s work spans painting, drawing, photography, large-scale installations, and sculpture in ceramic, bronze, and fiber-reinforced plastic. Influenced by popular music, memories of childhood, and current events, he filters these references through an exploratory realm of feelings, loneliness and rebelliousness especially, which span autobiographical as well as broader cultural sensibilities.” – Pace Gallery

What you can expect during the session:

There will be light guidance for anyone who feels stuck, nervous or uninspired in the first half, and in the second half of the session you’ll have longer poses where the host will step back so that everyone can draw as they wish at their own pace. We recommend this session for all levels, if this is something you’ve been meaning to try and have been nervous to get into – this is your perfect opportunity!

On most occasions depending on the model’s choice, there will be a replay of the session available after the event that will expire after 1 week, this is for you to catch up on any poses you might have missed or would have liked more time on. However this is not a guarantee.

HOUSE RULES AND MODEL SAFETY:

Please do not under any circumstances record (with your mobile) or screenshot the model, we welcome you to photograph, record and share your work on social media but please do not record their body out of respect for them, thank you! <3

Our sessions are inclusive and suitable for all abilities. Each pose is timed and called out before each pose.

Is there a Recording?

It depends on the model and whether they would like to have their session recorded or not. Most sessions are recorded but not all! We usually edit the recordings after the session and then upload them to our Gumroad page where they are available for purchase for a minimum of 5GBP-7GBP depending on whether it is a tutored, untutored or HD version. Once purchased you can stream (no downloads) the replay as many times and whenever you like.

How do I attend your classes?

You need to book your place via our Eventbrite page:

Our classes take place online via Zoom. You will need to download and register with zoom before the session.

All refund requests can only be processed via Eventbrite before the event start time. Please login to your Eventbrite where you will be required to state a reason for your refund.
