Black History Month is being celebrated with the opening of an international art exhibition, “Against All Odds!”

We will be presenting the selected artwork from artists all over the world, as they speak about their art and significances around Black History: Honoring the Strength Within, people who have been besieged by discrimination, and still rose to their personal heights. You’ll see art such as the one above, Leaving Laurel Mississippi: Mary Violet Leontyne Price, by artist John Mark Rainey. Mary Violet Leontyne was known as “Black First Lady of Opera.” The host, Carolyn Goodridge, and all the attending artists will answer questions about the works and welcome any comments from the attendees.
